Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 21, 2026

Last Updated: September 14, 2026

The Modded Servers Team (the "Team") operates the duikbo.at website (the "Website") and the regions to play Among Us on (the "Regions").

This Privacy Policy will explain how our organization uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our Service.

1. What data do we collect?

To operate our Among Us game servers and ensure a safe, functional experience for all players, we collect and process the following categories of data:

1.1. Account and Identifier Data

  • What we collect: Usernames, in-game names, Platform User IDs (PUIDs), Friend Code and Platform Type (e.g. Steam, Epic, Android) you use to connect.

  • Purpose:

    • Enable core gameplay (e.g., player identification, matchmaking).
    • Share your PUID and Friend Code with other players in-game to support functionality (e.g., friend lists).
  • Legal basis: Contractual Necessity (required for the game to work), Legitimate Interest (to maintain a safe environment and enable community moderation).

  • Retention: PUIDs and account IDs are stored for 30 days in connection logs. Friend codes are cached for 1 year.

1.2. Connection and Gameplay Data

  • What we collect: Timestamps of connections/disconnections, your IP address, and the platform account ID you use (e.g., Steam account, Epic account id, Google account id), as well as gameplay data (e.g. lobby join/leaves, player actions).
  • Purpose:
    • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
    • Detect and prevent abuse, cheating, or violations of our Terms of Service (link).
  • Legal basis: Legitimate Interest (server stability, anti-cheat, and moderation).
  • Retention: 30 days (then automatically deleted).
  • Sharing: IP addresses and platform account IDs are not shared with other players.

1.3. Open Lobbies

  • What we collect: Players connected to a lobby, name of the host, game settings used, whether the game is public or not

  • Purpose: Allow players to find and connect lobbies

  • Legal basis: Contractual Necessity (required for the game to work), Legitimate Interest (For public games: find a wider audience)

  • Retention: While the lobby is open, and at most 5 minutes after the lobby has closed.

  • Sharing: When a lobby is set to public, the Team will share details of this lobby with our partners in order to promote your lobby to a wider audience. Our partners are listed on the Partners page (link), note that some of these partners also share data outside the EU.

If you do not want the Team and their Partners to promote your lobby, keep the game in Private mode. The Team may transfer your data to other servers operated by the Team to improve performance, which includes servers outside the EU.

1.4. Chat Messages

  • What we collect: In-game text chat (no voice data).
  • Purpose:
    • Deliver messages to other players in real-time (required for gameplay).
    • Moderate content for safety (e.g., harassment, spam).
  • Legal basis: Contractual Necessity (to enable chat functionality) and Legitimate Interest (moderation).
  • Retention: 30 days in logs.
  • Sharing: Chat messages are visible to other players in the same game session.

1.5. Moderation Data

  • What we collect: Records of moderation actions (e.g., bans, warnings), including the PUID, platform account id, timestamp, reason, and duration of the action.
  • Purpose:
    • Enforce server rules and Terms of Service (link).
    • Prevent repeat offenses (e.g., cheating, harassment).
  • Legal basis: Legitimate Interest (to maintain a safe and fair gaming environment).
  • Retention: 1 year after the ban expires (to catch repeat offenses).
  • Sharing: Moderation records may be shared with our partners listed on the Partners page (link)

1.6. Automated Decision-Making

  • What we analyze: Gameplay data (as described in Section 1.2, Connection and Gameplay Data) is processed in real-time by our anticheat system.
  • Purpose:
    • Automatically and temporarily remove players from a lobby if suspicious behavior is detected (e.g., impossible actions like killing players as a crewmate, sending too large or too much network packets).
  • Legal basis: Contractual Necessity (to enforce fair gameplay under our Terms of Service).
  • Retention: Automated kick decisions are stored for 30 days
  • Note: These kicks are lobby-specific, allow immediate rejoin to other lobbies, and do not involve permanent consequences or real-time human review. This processing includes profiling under GDPR Article 4(4), as we automatically analyze gameplay data to detect cheating patterns. Additionally, logs from these automated kicks may be manually reviewed later if we receive a report of cheating in a specific lobby. If you believe the Anticheat system incorrectly kicked you, you are encouraged to reach out using our normal contact methods.

1.7. Aggregated Analytics

  • What we collect: Non-identifiable, aggregated data (e.g., player counts, peak usage times).
  • Purpose: Improve service performance and capacity planning.
  • Legal basis: Legitimate Interest.
  • Retention: As needed for analytics (no personal data retained).

2. Special Note on Minors

Our Terms of Service (link) prohibit use by individuals under the applicable legal age, and Among Us itself restricts chat features for younger users. However, we acknowledge that minors may access our servers. We do not knowingly collect or process data to profile or target minors, and we rely on platform-level age gates in Among Us. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, contact us to request deletion.

3. How will we store your data?

3.1 Servers operated by the Team

We use third-party hosting providers (Hetzner, OVH and Akamai Cloud) to store this data, we use Cloudflare to host our website and to secure our other servers; their processing is governed by their privacy policies and our data processing agreements. We have linked the current version as of writing below:

The team operates two types of servers:

  • Game Servers, which host the Regions that are part of the Service. Players connect to these Game Servers in order to use the Service.
  • Backoffice Servers, which contain analytics, moderation data and account information.

All backoffice servers are located in Europe. Game servers can be hosted on other continents, and temporarily cache account and lobby details on these servers. Game servers also permit players from around the world to join, in which case game data may be transferred outside the EU. Team members that are located outside the EU may access your data as part of the moderation system.

3.2 Friend Code lookup

To look up Friend Codes, we share your data with the following parties:

To reduce the privacy impact of players and reduce the load on this service, the Service only look up friend codes once on the first connection attempt, then retain these for a year after the last connection attempt.

4. What are your data protection rights?

The Team would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request the Team for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that the Team correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request the Team to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that the Team erases your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that the Team restricts the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to the Team's processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

  • The right to data portability – You have the right to request that the Team transfers the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the Contact page (link)

5. Updates to This Policy

This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Service (link). Updates to this policy follow the same process as described in the Terms of Service, with the exception of adding or removing subprocessors listed in section 3, for which changes take effect immediately.
